Natalie Villalobos is a Community Manager for Google+ - advocating on behalf of the site's 90 million users as their "big sister." In 2011, she created the +Handmade community to showcase makers, crafters, and foodies. She speaks publicly about Google+; having toured the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and the United States.

She is most proud of her work with indigenous communities worldwide which have included:

  • In March 2010, founding the 300 Acres Project (300acres.com) - a successful initiative to save 300 acres of endangered Ecuadorian rainforest in 60 days. Natalie and her team raised over $100,000 ($30,000 over-goal) to purchase the land before it was sold to an oil mining company. She is grateful to her partnerships with Square, Randi Zuckerberg, Google Grants, 350.org, and many more.
  • Project Management on behalf of the Google Earth Outreach team for a collaboration with James Cameron to defend the Belo Monte Dam in the Xingu River Basin of Brazil; video included on the re-release of Avatar.
  • Lead Advisor for GAIN (Google American Indian Network)

Her personality, feats, and professional career have been featured on The Huffington PostMashable, Inc. Magazine, CBS News, Business Insider, CNET, Spiegel, 7x7 Magazine, Laughingsquid, The Austin Statesmen, The Los Angeles Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, etc.

Prior to her life at Google, Natalie was a part-time assistant to famed SF artist Brian Goggin, and helped with site-specific sculpture design, implementation, and management for projects in the U.S, Japan, and Greenland. Before that she staked her claim on water, developing Ephemerisle - "a floating festival of politics, community, and art" as the Arts and Culture Manager at The Seasteading Institute. She has consulted for the Institute for the Future where she launched Signtific.org, an open source platform for scientists and technologists to help forecast future disruptions in their fields (see Team Signtific, Jane McGonigal not pictured). There she co-invented Signtific Lab, a massive multi-player "thought experiment" platform to engage science and technology enthusiasts. Prior to getting on the "institute" circuit Natalie consulted with Get Satisfaction, was at Digg and Yahoo! as an Associate Community Manager, and managed StyleMob, a DIY social network for fashion enthusiasts.

In 2009, Natalie was named one of the "People on the Move in the Social Media Industry", and attained her certification as a Certified SCRUM Master.

Her hope one day is to be featured in the New York Times "for doing something good for the world" - and unfortunately for her, her Ragdoll cat beat her to the front cover. Yeap, The New York Times.
