A Documentary on the Crew of Raygun Gothic Rocket
The crew of the Raygun Gothic Rocket was recently featured on the front page of the Oakland Tribune accompanied by a documentary by Sean Donnelly. Sean started coming to the shop (sweetly named St. Louise Studios) out of his interest to not only support the project, and document it for the public, but to also give credit to his thesis on how West Oakland and it's abandoned industrial buildings are homes to artists who are supporting creative expression and community.
The first time most of us read the article was out on the playa at RGR HQ at 6:30 and Chaos. We all felt pretty honored to grace the pages of our hometown rag, which included pictures of our very own Bena with the busted nose she recieved while working hard in the shop.
Press overall for the rocket has been phenominal! The lead artists of RGR (which include David Shulman, Sean Orlando, and Nathaniel Taylor) recently spoke to Time.com, BBC, and many others to propogate our creative sci-fi narrative. I'll post some of my favorite photos from the launch and Burning Man shortly!
